dear Henry Rollins

Hey Hank hope this note finds you well. I just moved out west from the east coast and life is slowly starting to make a bit more sense. Let me know when you’re back in town so we can grab a cup of coffee from the spot down the street from that place in Hollywood.
Anyways I just wanted to drop you a note because when I was unpacking my books and records it just dawned on me?!?! “What would my life had been if Henry Rollins never came into into it”
The books, the cassettes, the lp’s, the spoken word, the documentaries, the tv shows and the seven inches. They all spoke to me in their own unique way. The inspired me to look within my own self. To take a chance and write some words. To get on a stage and scream my head off. They opened my eyes to a world of need and fueled the desire to educate myself further. You inspired me to be an individual and to make the most out of what I had.
You were great as a cop in that Sheen movie and as a nazi maniac on the motorcycle gang show amongst other things.
Because of you Henry I knew it is ok to not only love Ian and HR but also Coltrane and Nick Cave.
And on and on.
Man, you’re pretty fucking cool.
That’s about it. Just wanted to drop you a quick line. Be well my old friend. never stop moving.

Best,

Matt Pike
