State of Love and Trust

Gaslight Anthem w/ Eddie Vedder from this weekends DeLuna Festival.

I knew i should have gone to this….

this is a beautiful thing

Not only because of the place i have in my heart for Pearl Jam but it just highlights the good that some people do for those in need. You never hear about things like what Jeff Ament is doing to help people. Media outlets always focus on the negative because it draws more ratings. Major props to both Vans and Jeff Ament, good deeds do not go unnoticed.

Pearl Jam bassist and co-founder, Jeff Ament, started out as a small town boy from Montana, selling papers, picking weeds on farms, and nabbing up any odd jobs he could find, just to buy a skateboard and some skate shoes. Even 25 years later, he still finds his inner 14-year-old when his skateboard is at hand, and wants to share the positive environment of the action sports community with impoverished, rural areas in the west.

Jeff most recently focused his efforts on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. In the latest installment of Pass The Bucket, he teams up with Jim Murphy, Mark Hubbard, Walt Pourier (from The Stronghold Society), Vans, Wounded Knee Skateboards, The Tony Hawk Foundation, and other supporters to build a world-class skatepark on the Native American reservation, inspiring confidence and providing an outlet for those who may not find one elsewhere. Underneath this smile Lies everything
All my hopes, anger, pride and shame

Make myself a pact, not to shut doors on the past
Just for today,… I am free

I will not lose my faith
It’s an inside job today

I know this one thing well,…

I used to try and kill love, it was the highest sin
Breathing insecurity out and in

Searching hope, I’m shown the way to run straight
Pursuing the greater way for all human light

How I choose to feel is how I am
How I choose to feel is how I am

I will not lose my faith
It’s an inside job today

Holding on, the light of the night
On my knees to rise and fix my broken soul

Again.

Let me run into the rain
To be a human light again

Let me run into the rain
To shine a human light today

Oh, life comes from within your heart and desire

Underneath this smile Lies everything
All my hopes, anger, pride and shame

Make myself a pact, not to shut doors on the past
Just for today,… I am free

I will not lose my faith
It’s an inside job today

I know this one thing well,…

There is nothing like a band covering another bands song and just making it their own.
Pearl Jam recently covered the Pink Floyd classic “Mother” on a late night program.
I fucking loved this song and love it even more now due to this version.

This is what a Pearl Jam dance party looks like!
